Rothschild Police and Fire Commission

Meeting called to order at 5:30 P.M.

Present: Mr. Radloff, Mr. Feit, Mr. Christianson, Mr. Smith

The members reviewed a proposed organization plan for the Fire Department.

Members expressed concern about combining EMS and Fire activities. The main concern being what impact this change would have on officers and crew who are not certified in both areas.

It was decided that the Fire Chief should not post the officer positions nor conduct interviews until meeting with the Commission.

The issue of budgeting for 2014 was not considered critical to the discussion as the number of officers is the same under the proposed and current structure.

It was concluded that the Commission will meet with the chief to discuss its concerns.

It was also discussed that in recent years the Commission has not interviewed candidates for the fire department.

The Commission decided that moving forward that it would interview and approve all candidates for the Fire Department.
